Current Customer Usage

Customer is a small operator in South Texas.  The oil drilled is sour at 4,000ppm and was sold via pipeline at 800ppm H2S.  Customer sought alternatives for treating their crude oil that would allow for over the road hauling which would necessarily require <10ppm H2S which, in turn, would increase the market value of their oil.

Specifics of customer experience

  • To road haul their crude the ppm of H2S is required below10ppm
  • Crude oil out of ground at their drilling site is 4,000ppm
  • Customer stated that to achieve <10ppm it would take 450 gallons of triazene scavenger 
  • Cost would have been $8.12/bbl or $3,654/day
  • Customer, through their network, found out about Ripcord and their product HPG, a non-triazene scavenger
  • Ripcord conducted a trial for the customer at no charge as long customer contracted with Ripcord upon success.
  • Trial conducted used 30 gallons/day of HPG and achieved <10ppm H2S
  • At $20/gal (vendor cost which includes: HPG; trucking; storage; manpower; and application), the cost to treat is $1.66/bbl 
  • By using HPG customer has now gained ~$3.34/bbl of value
  • Increasing customer revenue ~$36,000/month
